Blackheath Laser & Skin Clinic
Please read our Terms & Conditions carefully before booking an appointment. By making a booking with Blackheath Laser & Skin Clinic, you agree to the following terms.
1. Appointments & Booking
All treatments are by appointment only.
Appointments are reserved specifically for you and, where applicable, payment or a deposit is required at the time of booking.
Please ensure that you arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive late, your treatment may need to be shortened to avoid delaying the next client. The full treatment price will still apply.
2. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at 100% of the treatment price.
If you do not attend your appointment, the full treatment price will be charged.
The 48-hour cancellation policy applies to all appointments without exception. This policy is in place because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you and cannot normally be offered to another client at short notice.
3. Late Arrival
Please arrive on time for your appointment.
If you arrive late, we will do our best to provide your treatment within the remaining appointment time. However, if there is insufficient time to perform the treatment safely and correctly, we may need to shorten or cancel the treatment.
The full treatment price may still apply.
4. Consultation & Medical Information
For certain treatments, a consultation and/or patch test is required before treatment.
You must provide accurate and complete information about your medical history, medication, allergies, skin conditions and any other relevant information.
Please inform us before booking if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a medical condition
- Take prescribed medication
- Take blood-thinning medication
- Take steroids or immunosuppressive medication
- Take medication that may increase sensitivity to light
- Have allergies or known skin sensitivities
- Have recently undergone surgery or another cosmetic treatment
- Have an active skin condition, infection or cold sore
- Have a history of cancer or are currently undergoing cancer treatment
Some treatments may not be suitable depending on your individual circumstances.
If you are unsure whether a treatment is suitable for you, please contact us before booking.
5. Patch Tests
Patch tests are required for certain treatments, including laser hair removal, lash and brow treatments and selected skin treatments, where applicable.
A patch test must be completed within the required timeframe before treatment.
If you do not attend for your required patch test, or if you book a treatment without completing a required patch test, we may be unable to carry out the treatment.
If you experience a reaction to a patch test, the treatment will not proceed until it is considered safe to do so.
The appointment may still be chargeable in accordance with our cancellation policy.
6. Laser Treatments
Laser treatments require a consultation and patch test before treatment.
Treatment suitability depends on your individual skin type, hair characteristics, medical history, medication and other factors.
Laser results vary between individuals and no specific result or number of treatments can be guaranteed.
You must follow all pre- and post-treatment advice provided by your therapist.
Please inform us of any changes to your health, medication, skin condition or tanning before each laser appointment.
Sun Exposure & Tanning
For laser treatments, you must avoid excessive sun exposure and sunbeds before your appointment.
Please do not use fake tan on the treatment area before laser treatment.
Laser treatment may need to be postponed if the treatment area is recently tanned, sunburned or otherwise unsuitable.
7. Skin & Facial Treatments
Skin treatments are selected according to your individual skin condition and concerns.
Pre-Treatment Skincare
For facials and advanced skin treatments, please discontinue the use of retinol, retinoids, exfoliating acids and other active or potentially irritating skincare ingredients for a minimum of 5 days before your appointment, unless specifically advised otherwise by your qualified healthcare professional or therapist.
This includes products containing ingredients such as:
- Retinol and retinoids
- AHA/BHA/PHA acids
- Glycolic acid
- Salicylic acid
- Lactic acid
- Strong exfoliating products
- Other active ingredients that may increase skin sensitivity
Please also avoid harsh scrubs or aggressive exfoliation before your appointment.
If your skin appears compromised, irritated, sunburned, infected or overly sensitive on the day of treatment, your therapist may need to modify or postpone the treatment.
Your therapist may recommend an alternative treatment if your skin is not suitable for the treatment originally booked.
8. Advanced Skin Treatments
For treatments including microneedling, chemical peels, Luminfusion, microdermabrasion and other advanced resurfacing treatments, additional suitability requirements may apply.
Please inform your therapist if you have recently had:
- Botox or other anti-wrinkle injections
- Dermal fillers
- Chemical peels
- Microneedling
- Laser or IPL treatments
- Waxing of the treatment area
- Other cosmetic or aesthetic procedures
Treatments may need to be spaced apart to allow the skin to recover safely.
Your therapist will advise you if your treatment needs to be postponed.
9. Waxing & Beauty Treatments
Waxing, lash and other beauty treatments may cause temporary redness, sensitivity or irritation.
Please follow the aftercare advice provided by your therapist.
For intimate waxing, additional suitability requirements may apply.
Please inform your therapist of any products, medication or skin conditions that may make waxing unsuitable.
10. Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon hydrotherapy and enema treatments are subject to individual suitability.
You must inform us of any relevant medical conditions, medication, pregnancy, recent surgery or other circumstances that may affect your suitability before treatment.
If you are unsure whether colon hydrotherapy is appropriate for you, please contact us before booking.
We reserve the right to decline treatment where we believe it is not appropriate or safe to proceed.
11. Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Some treatments are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
You must inform us if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding before booking and before treatment.
We may need to postpone or modify your treatment depending on the treatment and your individual circumstances.
12. Age Requirements
Certain treatments may have minimum age requirements.
Where a treatment has an age restriction, we reserve the right to request proof of age.
Please contact the clinic before booking if you are under 18 to confirm whether the treatment is available to you.
13. Treatment Results
Individual results vary depending on skin type, hair growth, lifestyle, medical history, medication, hormonal factors, adherence to aftercare and other individual factors.
While we always aim to achieve the best possible outcome, treatment results cannot be guaranteed.
This is particularly relevant to laser hair removal, where individual results and the number of sessions required can vary considerably.
14. Treatment Packages & Courses
Where a treatment is purchased as a course or package, the package must be used within the validity period stated at the time of purchase.
Packages are intended for the client named on the booking and are not transferable unless agreed by the clinic.
Individual package terms may apply depending on the treatment purchased.
Please ask the clinic for details before purchasing a course if you are unsure about the terms.
15. Treatment Purchases & Refunds
Treatment purchases and prepaid courses are subject to the terms provided at the time of purchase.
Where a refund is requested, the circumstances will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer law and the individual treatment/package terms.
Promotional prices and discounted packages may be subject to specific conditions.
16. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are subject to the terms stated at the time of purchase.
Vouchers must be presented or the voucher code provided when booking or attending treatment.
Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.
17. Before Your Treatment
For your safety, please do not attend your appointment with:
- Sunburn
- Active skin irritation
- Open wounds
- Active infections
- Cold sores affecting the treatment area
- Severely compromised or damaged skin
Depending on the treatment, we may need to postpone your appointment until your skin has recovered.
For laser treatments, recently tanned skin or fake tan on the treatment area may also mean that treatment cannot safely proceed.
18. Children & Accompanying Guests
To maintain a calm and professional treatment environment, please contact us before bringing children or additional guests to your appointment.
For certain treatments, only the client receiving the treatment may be permitted in the treatment room.
19. Photography & Before-and-After Images
We may recommend before-and-after photographs for certain treatments to help monitor your progress.
Photographs will only be used for marketing, social media or other promotional purposes with your separate consent.
You can choose not to have your photographs used for marketing purposes.
20. Personal Belongings
Please take care of your personal belongings while attending the clinic.
Blackheath Laser & Skin Clinic cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged personal possessions.
21. Treatment Suitability
We reserve the right to refuse or postpone a treatment if, following consultation, we believe it is not suitable or safe to proceed.
Your safety is always our priority.
If a treatment cannot be performed because it is medically or clinically unsuitable, we will explain the reason to you and discuss whether an alternative treatment or future appointment may be appropriate.
22. Prices & Promotions
All treatment prices are as displayed at the time of booking.
Promotional offers are subject to their individual terms and conditions and may not be combined with other offers unless specifically stated.
23. Changes to Appointments
We reserve the right to change or rearrange appointments in exceptional circumstances.
If we need to cancel or move your appointment, we will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative appointment where available.
24. Client Responsibility
By booking a treatment, you confirm that the information you provide to us is accurate and complete.
You must inform us of any relevant changes to your health, medication, pregnancy status, skin condition, tanning or other circumstances before your treatment.
Failure to provide relevant information may result in treatment being postponed or refused.
25. Our Priority
At Blackheath Laser & Skin Clinic, your safety, comfort and treatment experience are our priority.
If you have any questions about a treatment or are unsure whether it is suitable for you, please contact us before booking.
